Norwich was formed from Jericho (Bainbridge)
and Union (Broome County), on January 19 1793.
Norwich is situated upon the Chenango River in the north-west part
of the town and was incorporated April 16 1816. Canasawacta Creek flows along the western
boarder and connects with Chenango River at the south of the village.
Norwich consists of county office buildings, library's, banks, gas stations,
department stores, churches, salons/barbor shops/tanneries, court buildings, fire departments, jails, and a whole bunch of
different manufactories.
